Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Pray with me:

Father, we come boldly into Your presence, acknowledging and decreeing that You alone are God. America is one nation under You, our God. Though the prophetic purposes of our nation seem to be fading into the shadows of an ungodly culture, Your eyes have searched and found within Your Ekklesia hearts that are completely Yours. We ask that through us, You will now show Yourself strong. Bring demonstrations of Your love and might, provoking an undeniable awakening, an awareness of You, in the church and nation.

We declare that Your original intentions for America are now rising from the shadows to shine once again. You are not late. Your promises for this nation have not been forgotten nor forsaken. Your determined verdict has been made, and it cannot be overruled. We stand in faith and agreement with You now to declare that verdict over our nation: “America shall be saved!” In Jesus’ name, amen.

Our decree:

An awakening to God has come. America will revive, be healed, and rise as the nation God birthed her to be.

“A lover of justice is our mighty King; he is right in all his ways. He insists on being fair to all, promoting true justice and righteousness”  (Psalm 99:3-5)

Pray with me:

Father, we are living in very complicated days. Truth seems far from many. Unrighteousness abounds and we are told lies on a continuous basis. We are thankful for Your Holy Spirit living in us, guiding us into all truth.

Thank you for raising up and placing men and women of conviction in seats of government, especially at our state levels. We need them to uncover and remove corruption. We need them to enact righteous laws. We bless them for taking bold and righteous stands, unafraid of what can happen to them. Protect them from personal attacks on their reputations and families. Bless their states’ economies, which satan and the left is seeking to destroy.

Lord, please intervene in the tragic mess at our southern border. Send your holy angel armies to watch over the multitude of children being sent to America by their families. Forgive our nation for the government’s encouragement of this. Lord, give strategies to Your people to solve the problems associated with this crisis. We need answers that are beyond our natural knowledge. Save and heal the children that have come. Reunite them with their families. We say, “Grace to this mountain in Jesus’ name.” Amen.

Today’s decree:

We decree that righteousness, truth, justice, and mercy will prevail in America.

Several years ago I was observing a small herd of elk one evening just before dark. The wind was just right, blowing my scent away from them, and I had just enough cover between the herd and myself to creep within twenty yards or so. Eventually, just to see if I could do it, I crawled very slowly, out into the open and watched them. They never saw me.

One of the things that intrigued me most was the twitching of their ears. Ever vigilant, each time they heard a sound, their ears would prick up in order to hear it even better. Whether eating, drinking or taking a step, they were always diligent to listen for a potential threat – their lives depended on it. As I watched them, the pricking up of their ears reminded me of a word I had studied. I recalled that this was the literal meaning of one of the Hebrew words for “listening.” Qashab means “to prick up the ears like an animal coming to alertness.” This live picture, painted by the elk, was indeed worth a thousand words.

One of the places qashab is used is in Proverbs 4:20-22, a fairly well-known passage of scripture:

My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.

Do not let them depart from your sight; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to their whole body.” (Italics mine)

My understanding of “giving attention to” the Lord’s words went to a whole new level as I watched the ever-vigilant ears of the elk. Always listen diligently for His voice, as though your life depends on it, is what came to mind. No matter what else you happen to be doing, remain tuned in to Him.

Spending time with God through prayer, worship, and quiet meditation tunes in the soul and awakens the heart, enabling us to hear Him. Life is loud – make it quiet down once in a while. Everything else will scream for your attention, but not the Lord. Holy Spirit refuses to shout above the clamor and dissonance created by other voices and activities. For those who have grown to love the pleasure of His company enough to make time for Him, however, the still small voice of Holy Spirit becomes easily discernible.

Life gets fast. Too fast. The Economist contributor Dan Montano writes:

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”1

How true, and it’s true of us, as well. It should describe the business world, however, not your devotional life. Speed has its place, and at times is necessary. But when listening for Holy Spirit, listen slowly. He is patient but won’t be trivialized by casual glances and cursory conversation. Like any lover, He wants to be valued.

Turn aside and listen for His voice. This is one of the meanings of the word “incline” (natah) in Proverbs 4:20. Moses saw a bush on fire while not being consumed, and decided to “turn aside” and see it (Exodus 3:3). When he did, the Lord spoke to Him. If we’ll turn aside, He will speak to us, as well. But He won’t speak until we are captivated enough to turn aside.

This word natah literally means “to stretch toward, as in craning the neck in order to see or hear better.” The long-necked bird we call a crane provides the genesis for this colloquialism. “Stretch” your neck toward God in order to easily and clearly hear His sayings. Show Him worth; assign Him value; demonstrate interest in His words. If you do so, He will speak.

My friend Tom Schlueter, whom God has used tremendously to coordinate prayer for the state of Texas, talks of God challenging him to be a better listener.

“On one particular night in the Lord’s presence, my whole concept of prayer changed. I was reading the story of Jesus regarding the night he prayed in the garden of Gethsemane. I have read this story many, many times.

“I was by myself around 2AM and had just finished reading the story again when the Lord spoke quietly and told me He wanted me to understand this story. I made the crucial mistake of telling Him I knew all about it. I had preached it, taught it, mentored it, and practiced it. As far as I was concerned there was nothing new to see in it. Wrong answer! He firmly told me to read it again and I did. Then He told me to read it again and again and again.

‘Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

“He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, ‘O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.’

“Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, ‘What! Could you not watch with Me for one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.’

“Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, ‘O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.’ And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

“So, He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then He came to His disciples and said to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.’” (Matthew 26:36-46 NKJV)

“As the story unfolds, Jesus enters the garden with the eleven disciples. He gives a simple command to simply sit while He goes further into the garden to pray. The command is simple. In Greek the word ‘sit’ has a profound meaning: ‘to sit.’ He then took Peter, James, and John further into the garden. The command He gives them is also simple. He invited them to ‘stay here and watch with me.’ The Greek word for watch is grēgoreō and it simply means ‘to watch’ or ‘to give strict attention to.’ When Jesus returns to them, He asked, ‘Could you not watch with me one hour?’ The key revelation the Lord was showing me that night after reading and meditating on this passage for over an hour was simple – He was not first asking them to pray for an hour. He had asked them to watch Him pray. Whoa! That’s a new twist on the passage. After that revelation, He then informed them that it was now time for them to watch and pray, so that they would not enter into temptation.

Tom continues, “The effect of this revelation on my personal prayer life, the prayer life of my congregation, and the prayer life of the Texas Apostolic Prayer Network was profound. As I further studied the gospels, I noticed one simple fact. Many times, the Lord had gone off to pray, but He had always done it alone. This was the one time He had invited three of His disciples to come into that personal place where He would be talking one on one with His Father. He literally wanted them to watch and listen to Him pray.

“And they fell asleep.

“Perhaps the Lord is still inviting us to watch and listen to Him. What a novel idea! I’m not trying to be mystical and I know we’ll never hear all that occurs in heaven, but as we are seeking direction for our personal lives, our businesses, the  members of our family, or the direction of our state and nation, how profound it would be if we would first ask the Lord, ‘What are you saying, Lord? What is on your heart? What are Your strategies? What is my destiny, or the destiny of my state, or my nation?’

“How often do we pray prayers that flow solely from our personal desires, paradigms, ideas, or biases? Let’s turn our eyes and ears on Jesus and allow Him to direct, not only our steps, but also our prayers, especially as we pray for the United States of America.”

Our prayer times are not intended by God to be when we present Him with our daily wish list. He intends them to be when He and His partners collaborate about one another’s plans, hopes, and dreams – just like any good parent and his/her kids.

After all, that’s what Gethsemane and the Cross were all about – Dad connecting with his kids.

Pray with me:

Lord Jesus, teach us how to pray. And primarily teach us by allowing us to hear Your heart from Your throne in heaven. Please forgive us for our long lists of requests that may not even line up with Your purist desires for our lives. What are You saying, Lord, for our nation, my state, my life, family, and job? Help us to listen to You then we can come into agreement with You.

Give ears to hear, Lord, for as we listen, You will allow us to hear. I pray that for myself and for those listening to You today. We desire to hear You. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Our decree:

We decree that the Ekklesia will open their eyes, ears, and heart to hear the heart of Jesus. We will then decree what we have heard from heavenly places. And we will decree that which we have heard Him decree: American Shall Be Saved!

Pray with me:

Father, we are deeply grieved at the intent of HR5 – the [In]Equality Act. This piece of legislation is an open door the enemy could walk through to bring great destruction. We are asking You to spare us from this threat. Lord, please stir up the body of Christ to pray, but also to take action. Motivate the pastors of America on this moral issue, Lord. Put an urgency in them to educate their congregations on this Bill and the issues involved. Stir them to join other pastors and ministry leaders in writing joint letters to their Senators. Give them boldness to rise up and take action to save the families and children in their congregations from the effect of this Bill. Cause the church to rise up, craft the messages for our Senators, and send them. Also, Lord, stir them to make phone calls. Stir us into action and save our nation.

And now, Lord, we take authority over this demonic plan. The church was asleep in the 60s when prayer was removed from our schools, and in the 70s when abortion was made the law of the land. But we will not sleep through this one. We bind every strategy of the enemy to pass and implement this Bill. We ask You, Father, for complete exposure of just how evil it is. We ask You for angels to help us win this battle by influencing pastors to take action and Senators to vote properly. We thank you for this help. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree: We bind the evil forces trying to pervert God’s creation of male and female through HR 5 – the [In]Equality Act.

My good friend, Zane Anderson, keeps an umbrella in his prayer closet. That would be a bit strange anywhere. But in Arizona, it’s even more strange because rain is not typically in the forecast; in southern Arizona, they don’t get a lot of rain. Zane keeps it there to remind him to always pray with expectation! The whole umbrella thing was born out of a story he heard many years ago. It challenged his prayer life and took him to an entirely new level of understanding the authority he’d been given in prayer.

Zane encourages us, “Don’t just pray – pray with an authoritative expectation – a faith-filled confidence and conviction that God not only hears us when we pray, but He will answer!” Here’s his explanation of the umbrella, and a challenge to take our praying to the next level.

“The story is told of a village that had been without rain for many months. The crops were failing, and the people were starving. Finally, the village leaders called for a day of prayer. Everyone in the village was to gather in the center of town to pray for a miracle, to pray that rain would come. On the appointed day, everyone gathered, from the oldest to the youngest. The village elder stood in front of the people, seeing the fear and desperation on their faces. He could read the questions in their eyes: What will happen if no rain comes? How long will we be able to survive?

“It was then that the village elder’s eyes looked into eyes of faith. They were set in the gaunt face of a little girl, so frail and thin she looked as if a breath could blow her away. Among the many fear-filled faces, she stood resolute and confident, the edges of a smile on her lips, faith in her eyes, and an umbrella in her hand!

“I love that part of the story: ‘an umbrella in her hand,’ Zane continues. “She came to the prayer meeting with an expectation, a deep-seated confidence, indeed, an inner assurance that God was going to answer her prayer. And she was going to be ready when the rains came!

“This child reminds me of our Lord’s words, ‘except you become as a child.’ In fact, He tells us that is how we come into kingdom dimensions and kingdom partnership – we come as a child, with a faith and expectation that our God can do anything!

“And so, the umbrella in my prayer closet is a constant reminder to pray with faith and expectation; to come to my Father as a child, with child-like faith and boldness, knowing that nothing is impossible to Him. Praying with expectation causes us to pray authoritatively, declaratively. It is more than just thinking, ‘I sure hope it rains.’ It’s more than weakly praying, ‘Please, Lord, let it rain; we sure need some rain…’ Rather, it is declaring authoritatively: ‘The rains are coming!’”

It’s amazing how revelation can explode in our hearts. The New Testament word for revelation literally means “to lift a veil, or uncover.” It’s what is happening when you have read a verse of scripture dozens of times, then you read the verse again and lights go on! It’s as if you never read it before. Or, it’s like a person who has heard the gospel before and it did not impact them. Then they hear it again, and it explodes in their heart. That is revelation; it’s what happened to Zane as he read about this little girl. God wants to bring revelation to you. He wants you to experience the reality of child-like faith.

Zane continues, “My prayer life changed dramatically when I began to see who I was ‘in Christ,’ and the kingly authority He had bequeathed to me – to us – through our relationship with Him. Prayer went from a religious form to a powerful instrument of advancing His kingdom and tearing down strongholds of darkness. Prayer went from hoping for things to happen, to expecting them to happen – indeed, legislating them into being.

“I’ve said for years, ‘we can’t do it without God – but He won’t do it without us!’ I believe in honor of his Son’s sacrifice at the Cross, God will do nothing redemptive on this planet without the partnership of those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. Through prayer, we can engage in one of the most significant and powerful aspects of that ‘partnership’ with the Lord. Prayer is essentially a partnership of the redeemed child of God, working hand in hand with God, toward the realization of His redemptive purposes on earth!

“Yes, our God is sovereign, but He has sovereignly chosen to move in response to the prayers of His Ekklesia on earth. I like the powerful statement I heard years ago: ‘All power in heaven and earth are God’s; but all prayer – invoking heaven’s power into earth’s need – is ours.’ Make no mistake, only the power of God can transform the earth, but He has ordained that the entry of this power be through a praying church, one that does so with an authoritative expectation, declaring and decreeing, binding and loosing. One that comes to the prayer meeting with an umbrella!

“The next time you go to a prayer meeting, take one! And when people ask you if it’s going to rain, tell them, ‘Yes, it’s going to rain healings, miracles, breakthroughs, kingdom advancement, and harvest!’”

Pray with me:

Father God, we come to You in childlike faith, our eyes fixed on You! We come as Your child, in confident boldness. We ask You to release Your heavenly justice to shake the earth. Bring justice for the unborn, for the abused. Bring justice for the wrong to be made right. We thank you for awakening your sons and daughters to arise with healing and restoration to the broken and forsaken.

Father God, we war in the Spirit for Your purposes to be fulfilled and for the transformation of lives and nations. We pray for corruption to be overturned and righteousness to rule throughout the earth. We petition You for solutions regarding our borders, our government, and our families. In Your mighty name, Jesus! Amen.

Our decree:

We decree the kingdom rains have come: rains of healing, signs, wonders, and miracles in our nation and the throughout the world. We decree the harvest is ready and your Ekklesia is going forth to bring in this great harvest of souls. We decree the kingdom is here, now, for a biblical revival, reformation, and restoration!

Pray with me:

Father, we believe the bowls of prayer for America are full. There have been millions and millions of prayers over the past 30 years asking You for forgiveness to America, and for revival. We, Your people, have fulfilled 2 Chronicles 7:14. You never said unbelievers needed to fulfill this verse, that they had to stop sinning before You would heal the land. You said if YOUR people did these things, You would heal the land.

And I would also add, Father, that You have always been willing to respond to a remnant. You do not require all of Your people to do these things. In Your mercy, You have always been willing to bring restoration through the few. In fact, You have never done it any other way. We believe that now, You will do as You said, and heal our land. We are asking You for this spiritual healing.

We are asking You to cleanse us from the shedding of much innocent blood. We are asking You to heal our land of racism and division. We are asking You to heal us of unrighteous government. We are asking You to heal the younger generation from the humanism and atheism we have allowed to invade our nation. We ask You to tip the bowls of intercession and pour forth Your lightning into America.

We ask you to do this also in our churches. Bring Your fire. Bring power to the church once again. Most of all, may we be people of Your presence. Restore hunger for You. Light up the earth, Father, with the greatest outpouring of Your Spirit this planet has ever experienced. We believe this is coming and we will never give up. We will see it… because the appeal still works! In Jesus’ name we ask and decree these things. Amen.

Our decree:

We decree that the bowls of intercession in heaven are filled, and God is going to respond from heaven!

Pray with me:

Father, it is very important that we learn, not only of Your power, but Your ways. We must not only know You can, we must understand how You desire to work. Due to the fact that, generally speaking, You accomplish this on earth through we, Your people, strengthen us in the area of perseverance and determination. May we never quit before we see the results You promised.

When we have discerned by Your spirit that it is time for an outpouring of spiritual rain, You said in Zechariah 10:1 to ask for it. We have discerned it is time and therefore are asking You for the rain. We are appealing for a deluge. Let a mighty, mighty outpouring of Holy Spirit come to this nation and other parts of the earth. Pour out Your Spirit as You did in the book of Acts, with great signs, wonders, and miracles. May it be said of us, as it was of them, that our world was turned upside down.

And You have said You were going to restore a righteous government to America. We have some righteous leaders who honor You, but the majority in our nation’s Capital oppose You and Your ways. They blatantly oppose Your word and mock You in many ways. We boldly ask You to remove them; shake up our government. From the White House, to the Capitol, to the Supreme Court – we ask You to remove those who dishonor and oppose You. Give us righteous, wise leaders – men and women of understanding and who honor truth. We will persevere in prayer until we see this take place. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our decree:

We decree that God is moving in America to bring forth righteousness and a mighty revival. And we declare that we will never relent in our prayers until we see this occurring.

“Embrace the power of salvation’s full deliverance, like a helmet to protect your thoughts from lies. And take the mighty razor-sharp Spirit-sword of the spoken word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17 TPT)

Pray with me:

Father, we have not done an adequate job of teaching believers regarding Your amazing power and life in us. Therefore, the church has remained terribly ignorant of who we are in Christ, and all He intends us to be and do. The river of life is in us in the person of Holy Spirit. Your immeasurable power is in us.

We ask You to increase our understanding of this. Teach us how to be those who release Your power to those who need it. Teach us to release the flow of Your river of life into situations where spiritual death is operating. May new boldness come to the church, and confidence to believe You really do want to work through us. And we ask that all hope deferred be overcome, in order that we may persevere in our intercession.

And, as always, Father, we ask You to pour out Your spirit in this nation. As we pray and release Your power, bring the greatest awakening we have ever experienced. Transform our nation and other nations of the earth. We ask You – this very day – move in our land by the power of Holy Spirit. Send revival to our churches, and from there into the nation. In Jesus Christ’s name we ask and believe we will receive these things. Amen.

Our decree:

We release the power of Holy Spirit into every city and neighborhood in our nation, in the powerful name of Jesus!

“Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!” (Psalm 127:14 TPT)

Pray with me:

Father, yesterday we heard about the importance of dreaming Your dreams for America. We know that those dreams are inextricably related to Your dreams for other nations, as well. You love us all the same. We stir up those dreams, refusing to allow them to die. We will never let go of them – NEVER. The greatest harvest of souls in history is beginning. America will play her part. We continue to ask for awakening in our nation. We release your power and the hovering of Holy Spirit over all of America – every city, every school, every church, every home, and every level of government.

Lord, like all successful intercessors, we are determined to be “stayers.” We ask for the fruit of perseverance to be kindled/stirred up in the hearts of Your people. Let another great prayer movement be born in America. You do not want the church praying only during elections. You want us praying always.

Help Your people overcome all hope deferred. Pull from them the poisonous arrows of disappointment and despair. Remind them what Paul told Timothy: “Stir up the gifts in you! Fight the good fight of faith! God has given you a spirit of power!” Please do whatever it takes to remove the spirit of complacency and apathy from your people. Let the fires of intercession burn again in this land. Though it only be only from a remnant, You will answer. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Our decree:

We decree that the church of America is being awakened once again to the power of prayer.

“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ the Lord has done great things for us; we are glad. Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb! Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.” (Psalm 126, ESV)

Pray with me:

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge you as the Giver of dreams. We trust You and know that Your plans for America’s destiny will not be thwarted. Help us to overcome the places in our hearts where there is unbelief and move into faith.

Lord, reawaken dreams gone dormant in us. Heal the parts of our hearts that have suffered from hope deferred. We want to partner with You by dreaming heroic dreams in our own lives, the lives of others, and for our beloved nation.

We know that the founding of America was providential and that, as our pilgrim forefathers once said, was for the propagation of the gospel around the world. We know that You are not done with America, and we covenant with You for the fulfillment of all your dreams for her.

Father, fill us today with your Holy Spirit and enable us to dream like You dream. Help us in our weakness to operate from Your strength. Remind us that we are part of a great lineage. Bring to mind stories of the heroes of old in the Bible and in the founding of America. God, we know that we are a vital part of their storyline and connected to them through the synergy of the ages.

Just like the signers of the Declaration of Independence, we commit our lives, our fortunes, and sacred honor to You, King Jesus. In Your name we pray. Amen.

Our decree:

We decree that God-dreams are being awakened and reawakened in our land.
